Thermit reaction is thermochemical reaction of exsoterm type which is used to connect train's rail called thermit welding. In this paper describes the thermit welding test and its data analysis. The test includes bending test, hardness test, and inspection of broken surface. The paper also shows the problem during the welding process and explains the method to overcome the problem. The problem discussed is the preheating process at the crucible and rail end. The analysis is emphasised the feasibility of thermit welding connection.
