The natural nonlinear-wave phenomena of solitons are presented through their mathematical models known as Korteweg-de Vries and sine-Gordon equations. The Burgers equation and shock-waves as a special case of Korteweg-de Vries equation is also briefly mentioned. Computational solutions using finite difference method are also presented. M.
