Lake Ranau is located on the borders of South Sumatera and Lampung provinces, northern and western parts belong to OKU regency of South Sumatera and western and southern parts belong to West Lampung regency of Lampung. Geothermal manifestation was identified as steam and hotwater occurred on some palces such as Waipanas-Lombok, Talang Kedu of Lombok village and Kerincing, Wai Wangi, Waipanas-Kotabatu, Cukuh Penggeseran at Banding village. Based on CGR survey in 2005, inferred resources of geothermal was 40 MWe. Geothermal resurces can also be used as a medium to sterilize vegetables and drying agricultural, plantation and fisheries products in the area of Lake Ranau such ie. tomato, coffee, chilli, and banana green house, air condition, instead of for electicity utilization. Tourism objects around Lake Ranau mostly of lake, mountain, forest and agrotourism should be integrately managed that in turn may increase Regional Income as well as to properly manage the environment.
