At present, according to Dr. de Villiers, nuclear power is the only proven and viable known alternative. In an interview he discusses the public opinion and nuclear energy, the Three Mile Island accident and the role that human error played in it, and the effect of better education on public opinion. He gives his opinion on the management of nuclear programmes by Western and Communist countries, as well as the role that nuclear power could play in developing countries.
