The role of research on teaching is obsvious. One of research methods is action research which consists of a set of cyclical steps called “a spiral model”. Because of characteristics of the teaching for engineering those are focusing on motoric domain, referring to technological development, and job oriented, the action research should be used as a basis for contructing instructional design of teaching for engineering, with components: instructional analysis, identification of students' entry bahavior, determining performance objectives, developing test items, selecting instructional strategies, developing instructional materials, conducting formative evaluation, and revising the instructional materials.
