The six power reactorswere connected to the grid during 2000. Chernobyl-3 was permanently disconnected fromthe grid in December 2000. The total number of units under construction at the end of 2000was 36.Nuclear power is clearly an important contribution to electricity supply worldwide with ashare of 25% in 17 countries.
