Synthesis and characterization of complex triaquasulfadiazinecopper(II) sulphate

The complex triaquasulfadiazinecopper(II) sulphate, (Cu(L)(H2O)3)SO4, has been synthesized from CuSO4.5H2O and sulfadiazine in methanol. The complex is paramagnetic with uobs of 1,86(I) BM, with cation: anion ratio of 1:1. The IR spectrum indicates that N-secondary is coordinated to Cu2+ion, while the UV-Vis spectrum shows one peak at maks equal to 787.0 nm (a0=151,95 kJ.mol-1,e=14,79 l.mol-1.cm-1), which corresponds to the transition of 2Eg--2T2g.
