CORROSION AND AGEING AND ITS EFFECTS IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

>

ABSTRACT
Ageing affects all reactors structures, systems and components to some degree and has potential to increase risk to public health and safety if its effects are not controlled. Therefore, in order to ensure continuous safe operation of a nuclear power plant,
observes must be taken to detect ageing degradation can be done to mitigate it through inspection. maintenance, repair or replacement of important reactor structures, systems and components. For reactors advance in age that almost achieve the normal design of age, ageing is key considerations in assessment of the safety implication of license renewal or to extend the operating life the nuclear power plants.
